Edberts House is a charity based in East Gateshead.
They were looking for a personalised website that captured the heart of their community, whilst also promoting their work to funders to secure income and ensure the sustainability of the project. To Edberts house, working in communities is all about making connections and empowering local people. I started by meeting with the Chief Executive to discuss ideas. I then attended a team meeting to find out more about their work and better understand the team dynamics. As their focus is on the community, I attended one of the community lunch events, where I did a workshop with the local steering group to get their ideas for the website. After this I started working on sketches to present to the Chief Executive some of my ideas. A mix of pictures and illustrations was the most suitable way to convey the colour, homeliness and energy of the organisation and the people.
I loved getting involved with this project and meeting so many amazing people. Hopefully, the images below will help you connect with my design process and what is happening at Edberts House.
